Post: The art of receiving feedback

Receiving feedback is an "art" that doesn't mix well with fragility. Do you know how to receive them?

Positive or negative?

At least perceived as such.

We stress the importance of constructive and effective feedback.

And rightly so.

For a manager, it's an essential skill.

But there's little preparation for feedback.

However, notwithstanding the quality of the feedback, there are certain essential principles to bear in mind.

Here are just a few examples:

✅Distinguish one-off behavior (or work) from identity;

👉🏾Une work doesn't tell the whole story.

👉🏾Elle cannot sum up your complexity and richness.

✅While the gaze of others can nourish your esteem, it should never be reduced to that;

✅Not complacent BUT...

✅Be indulgent with yourself, assuming we all have limits and blind spots;

✅Any work of art can be perfected;

✅Be self-deprecating (be serious without taking yourself too seriously).
